Last Entry:(

So this is my last entry for the year. It has been a crazy year, busy, and it sure flew by. This past week was Holy Week which is the last week of lent before Pascha, or Greek Easter. It was also the last week of classes and spring soccer. I went to church a couple times this week, then headed home Saturday for the celebration.

Friday night Nikki’s 21st birthday and while her parents came to Worcester and took her out to eat, we decorated the apartment and baked her cupcakes. We got a marble cake mix and it ended up being absolutely delicious.

Last post!

Hey all,

This week has been crazy since it’s the last week of classes! So I just have a couple things to share and then it’s time to wrap up the year!

On Monday my parents, grandmother, and aunt came to Worcester to take me out forĀ my birthday (and my sister’s half birthday). We went to the Flying Rhino on Shrewsbury Steet to try out some place new, and it was delicious! It was really great to see my family too!

Spree Day!

This was a very social week for me. Tuesday was the infamous Spree Day and this year I took a different approach to Spree Day and volunteered in the morning. I worked at one of the inflatables and basically hung out and watched kids go in it. It was fun because the attendant, I got to meet was a firefighter who went to Bentley and co-owned the business we rented them from. It was a beautiful day compared to last year when it poured rain all day. When I was done volunteering, Mike let me take his puppy Astro for a long walk for the rest of the day which was a lot of fun. We visited people around Clark and he made friends with Rambo.

If you couldn’t tell by the title of this post, I have a lot to talk about from the past 2 weeks!

Let me start at the beginning…One of the cool events I went to last week was a difficult dialogues event called “Climate Change on Campus“. We got to hear from administrators, faculty, staff, and professors who do work related to the issue on campus about what Clark is and should be doing to reduce are impact on climate change. It was really interesting! And students got the chance to ask some tough questions about the way we do things on campus in light of saving energy and carbon emissions. Hopefully this is the beginning of more communication between the student body and the administration, faculty, and staff about this critical issue that needs collaboration from all.

Birthdays!

This week was the week of birthdays! It started with Katie’s on Monday, Danielle on Friday, and Sara and Pete on Saturday. I didn’t have a lot of school work to do this week which was good, considering all the birthdays.

Tuesday I went to the softball game. I went to see Joanna Clark who is on the team, and also a member of our soccer team. It was a great game which they won, and the team managed to break the home-run record at Clark. This is a major accomplishment for the team and I was glad to have been there to see it.

The Fossil Fools rally I’ve been helping to plan like crazy for the past few weeks was on Tuesday and it was awesome! The weather kind of threw us a curveball; it was pretty windy and a little rainy, but I think it went really well anyway! A bunch of CSI members as well as other Clarkies and a couple Worcester residents met in Red Square and then marched down Main Street to Worcester Common to set up our rally and street theater in front of Bank of America. The reason we were there to target Bank of America’s investment in the coal industry in a creative way by setting up a boxing ring and doing a street theater to represent the fight between dirty energy, The Coal Plant, and clean energy, The Wind Turbine. I got to be the wealthy Bank of America Billionaire, Thomas Foolery, who was foolishly backing the unsustainable and environmentally atrocious coal plant.

Great News!

Monday was a wonderful day! I heard back from an internship I applied for for the summer. I had a phone interview last week and the man who interviewed me told me he would let me know on Monday if I got it or not. The great news, I DID! This means I will be spending the summer in New York City working in the finance field budgeting! I am very excited for this and glad to have this opportunity. Besides that, this past week was absolutely exhausting. I would have to say I slept the least this week than any week so far this semester. I think all my exams and papers finally caught up with me.

The Gala is coming!

Hello Everyone!!

There are now 10 days to go to the International Gala. The International Gala is one of the biggest events on campus with performances from all over the world brought to the Clark campus. This event is heavily attended by both students and staff. In fact, over the last few years, ISA has had to turn people away from the doors of Atwood Hall because of capacity issues. This year, we are expanding the gala by moving it to the Kneller which twice as many people as Atwood.

Final Weeks of March

Hi all,

How are you all doing? Since I have not written in a long time, I have many things to share with you all. Ever since coming back from Spring break, the campus has been very lively and busy with activities ranging from dance parties, plays, lectures, to dinners. With homework and setting up for these events, I have not really had much free time on my hands.

Last exam before finals!

This was my last busy week before finals. I had a marketing exam on Tuesday, and a presentation on Thursday, but other than that, I have a research paper due this week, and the rest of my semester is going to be spent preparing for finals. I have a couple other big projects, papers, and presentations due, but nothing too heavy.
