Hey Clark!

This is Darcey with my first post on the Clark Diaries website. I assume that most all of the diarists will be writing introductory first posts, so I’ll try to keep it short. I’m a junior from Berkeley, California, and I’m majoring in History with a concentration in Holocaust and Genocide Studies. I play softball for Clark as well, so if you have any questions about the HGS concentration or athlete life at Clark I’d be happy to help you out.

This afternoon I went to check out the Clark field hockey team play against WPI with a couple of my friends (including Mel, my fellow diarist!). I’m still trying to learn the logistics of field hockey, and boy was I glad to see this one. It was a great game – the score was 0-0 after regulation and two overtimes, so they had to go to a penalty shootout. It was nerve wracking! WPI finally won after something like 11 penalty strokes by each team. As a fellow athlete I know how much it hurts to lose a close one, but Clark played an awesome game nevertheless. Afterward there was a BBQ for players and parents of the field hockey team, which we helped to set up for Coach Wage (she is both the field hockey and softball coach). The food was delicious. Now, off to do some reading!
