Hey everyone, this is Qingyi. My name is pronounced like Tsing-e. You can also call me Angela, which is my English name. I am a sophomore here at Clark and I’m major in Economics and Mathematics. This is my first entry on Clark Diaries Website. I am kind of excited since I used to read Clark diaries too before I came to Clark. I will post stories and pictures about activities on-campus. It is said that “Happiness will double while sorrow will half when shared with a friend.” Hope you will enjoy reading, share my happiness as well as sorrow, and please leave comments for me.
This afternoon I went to make a poster for the upcoming event “IA bazaar”. It would be an arts and crafts sales fest for students. My club Initial Advantage (IA) which is an entrepreneurship club is organizing this cool event. It will provide not only arts major students, but also everyone who is interested in making arts and crafts to show their talent, and earn some pocket money at the same time. Everyone could sign up for half a table for 5 dollar or one whole table for 10 dollar. We booked the green for Oct 18th. The day is also a university preview day when many perceptive students and their parents will come. Many students have already showed their interest during our tabling at University Center (UC). Initial Advantage is composed of a group of students who are enthusiastic about innovating, bringing up new business ideas, and making their ideas happen. We held several successful events last year such as “The world is yours” in which we invited the founder of “Blue Man Group” (He is a Clark alumni and everyone got a free ticket for the Blue Man show in Boston!), and “Cook for Hunger” in which we got four restaurants in Worcester to cook in the cafeteria for a week (The restaurants advertised themselves and students enjoyed delicious food!). We also experienced some failure when trying to carry out our business ideas but they are great experiences and great fun. Hope our IA Bazaar will be a success.
