Some Bio on me…

Hi there! My name is Tuku Shivute and I’m a junior here at Clark. I was born and raised in Windhoek, Namibia, but I found myself spending my sophomore, junior and senior year of high school in 3 separate continents, Africa, Europe and North America. I finally landed at Clark University and it quickly became my home away from home. I am currently a pre-med student majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular biology. My other passion in life is for foreign languages; I am a German minor but am also presently learning Arabic as one of our consortium class offerings. As if my academic life is not colorful enough, I have also been involved in several extracurricular activities here at Clark. Firstly I love dancing, especially hip hop. It’s fun, exciting and not to mention an awesome work-out. I am part of Hip Hop Collabo (HHC) which, I’m proud to say, was voted the most entertaining group at Clark, and trust me there are a lot of extremely entertaining groups at Clark so this is a huge honor.  I write for our ‘cosmopolitan/GQ’ type magazine at Clark called stir Magazine (I should be covering a story on Talib Kweli who is coming to Clark soon). I am also involved with the Democrats of Clark (DOC), Clark Debate Society, being a DJ for Radio of Clark University (ROC-U) and of course play intramural soccer with my team “the thundercats”, being a hardcore soccer fan of Liverpool Football Club since I was 2 years old! It’s a wonder I still have time to have awesome group of friends here at Clark! I must have one of the most amazingly diverse groups of friends.  Thinking of the top of my head, my best friends all seem to come from every corner of the world. My friends come from Germany, Malaysia, Rhode Island, Pakistan, New York, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, India and even Hawaii; and this is leaving out a lot of other close friends. I also happen to be on the executive board of the International Student Association, which has the biggest student-run event on campus every year; the International Gala, which was attended last year by a record number of over one 1500 people!!I know junior year is going to be hectic and fun at the same time and I can’t wait to share it with you guys.  See you on the flip side.
