Long Weekend

This weekend, as my fellow diarists have noted, is Fall (Midterm) Break.  Many Clarkies have gone home or away for a few days, leaving the campus extra quiet and relaxing for those of us who are staying.  I would normally go home for a long weekend, but I’m on RA Duty tonight and will be going home in two weeks for some concerts.  This week was pretty good, lots of reading as usual, but this weekend was a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

Today I went to watch some World Cup Qualifer soccer games downtown with a friend.  The weather was awesome, extremely sunny with nice leaf colors.  I took some pictures on our drive back to campus, just to show you a bit of Worcester.   After the games, I hung out with my friend Alex, we went down to the Dolan Field House and kicked a ball around, then decided to keep walking because the weather was still nice.  We explored a store called Savers.  Savers has new and used items, a big clothing section, and a special section of Halloween costumes.  We both couldn’t make up our minds and are still in the market for costumes, so let me know if you have ideas.  Then we ate dinner at the dining hall, which was pretty empty.  I had pasta with alfredo sauce, mushrooms and green peppers.  They served dirt (pudding with chocolate crumbs) for dessert, very nice.  After dinner, we kept eating and went to a friend’s apartment to try Chinese seaweed pork soup.  Tonight, I’m going to watch a movie with some friends, because I have to stay in my residence hall on duty.       Here are some pictures from the drive back to campus today:p1010635-large.JPGp1010638-large.JPGp1010637-large.JPGp1010636-large.JPGp1010634-large.JPGp1010633-large.JPG
