a busy and fulfilled week

There are a lot of things going on this week. I studied hard on Monday and Tuesday for my Accounting exam. The exam turned out to be a little bit challenging, but my hard work paid off. =)

I went to Worcester Boy & Girls Club for my management class community service project on Wednesday afternoon. My group has been planning this project for weeks. We organized a game day for children, including an icebreaker, a dodge ball game and a hand ball game. It rained so that we could not use the outside court we originally planned. We moved to the gym, and changed the order of the games due to the limited available time of the gym. It is harder than I thought to organize the children. We tried to gather them in the middle but many boys were just too excited running around and asking all kinds of questions. Someone came up with a good idea to line the children up near the wall and it turned out successfull. They seemed to be used to that. And soon, we got them into two teams. Both of the ball games went well, but it was hard to decide which teams won since children who were out went back to the game again. Regardless, the most important part is that the children had fun and our group experienced and learned through this project.

I went to I&E department monthly dinner later that night and had great conversations with AJ Vaynerchuk. He is a student entrepreneur at Boston University. He talked about his crazy ideas, unique opinions, and experiences on entrepreneurship and the internet market. Another fun part is all the websites he introduced us, such as stumbleupon.com, twitter.com, digg.com. I think he is great at advertising and marketing and what he said really made me interested. The food offered during the dinner was good too.

On Thursday, the café had the world of flavor event again, and this time, the focus was on East Asian. They offered Pad Tai, fried broccoli and cauliflower, chicken rice, Japanese miso soup and some other delicious food that I don’t know the name. The café was extremely crowded and I sense that the people enjoyed the food a lot. My roommate sang a song called “Coral Reef Sea” with four other friends. Their performance was awesome.

This week is pretty busy but fulfilled. =)
