So Bat Boy finally went up this week. It was definitely a roller coaster of a tech week/run but it was a lot of fun.
Bat Boy: The Musical is the story of Edgar Parker, a Half Man-Half Bat creature. He is found in a cave in Hope Falls, West Virginia, by three local teens. He is brought to the house of the local veterinarian and “civilized” by his wife. Bat Boy tells the story of Edgar’s struggle to be accepted by the narrow-minded citizens of Hope Falls. In Edgar’s story we are able to see ourselves, and through the comedic-tragedy of his life we can look critically at how we treat others.
The cast and crew had a ton of fun putting up Bat Boy and we played 4 shows to great audiences. We really bonded over the last week (we spent a lot of time together), and there were some crazy antics backstage – too bad nobody had a camera back there…
But here are some pictures from the show itself (Thanks again to Allie Schenkler!), the first few are of the cast warming up and playing some games beforehand, and then there are pictures from the show.
