Horse Riding and Masquerade Ball

Hey everyone,
Last week was busy as always. On Monday night, I went to my horse riding class at Belle Wood Barn in West Boylston. Allison, our captain, came to help lounge me. As a beginner, staying on the lounging line can help me practice my positions and posts since I don’t need to worry too much about keeping the horse on the right direction and speeding him/her up. Natalie, the treasurer of the Equestrian team lounged me for the first two weeks. I really appreciate their efforts in helping me. I tried the half-sit post this week, which was tiring but good for improving my legs’ strength. Leila and Gaby took some jumping lessons. We will have our first spring horse show at U-Mass Amherst this Saturday. I will go with the team to check out the process of the show. I am really excited even though I am not showing this time. All the riders will dress up in nice equestrian shirts, jackets, beige breeches and tall leather boots. We will also wear the clothing to the lessons this week to show our coach Frank, so that he could make some adjustments and possibly scrounge some other high quality ones for us. I will bring my camera with me to the show this weekend and keep you guys updated.

Another big event last weekend was the annual Masquerade Ball hosted by SPOC (Science-Fiction People of Clark) on Saturday night. The theme this year was “the mafia”. There were the mobster’s hats and masks provided at the door. When I arrived at Tilton Hall at around 10 pm, there was already a huge crowd, dancing, chatting, and eating. The music was great. And we had nice cakes, mock tails of strawberry and avocado flavors, and chocolate fountain which I loved the most. Dipping bananas, pineapples, and marshmallows in chocolate is a great feast. The Ball was absolutely a great success. Here are some pictures.
