Spring break and “Clark Bike Share”

Hi Everyone,

Back from spring break. It took me a while to re-adjust to the intensive studies, especially when I have one presentation and two midterms coming up. I went on a Cruise to the Bahamas for 5 days, which was really relaxing. The ship was gorgeous, with shopping, eating, swimming, fitness activities, and many other entertaining events. The food on the ship was high class and divine. I have been eating so much and gained a lot of weight. My friend and I went snorkeling and scuba diving for our on shore excursions. The water in the Bahamas was so clean that we can see fishes and reefs clearly and they were so beautiful. Scuba diving was not as hard as I thought with the help of a coach. I wish I could have a water-proof camera to take pictures under the sea. I stayed at Disneyland for two more days. The weather was nice and warm, and I got a little tanned. We went to all four parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studio during the two days. Nevertheless, we rode all the most thrilling rides, such as the space mountain, which is an indoor rollercoaster, and the Kali River Rapids, where you could get a free shower. Disney is certainly a place where dreams come true. There are fairy tales, happiness, craziness, screams, and laughs. It was a great spring break.

It is time to come back to work again. Good news for the bike lovers! The campus bike sharing program “Clark Bike Share” finally kicked off. Ashley, Kate, Lauren, and I initiated that idea during the Bid Idea Competition last spring. We made it into the finalists, but did not win the big prize. However, we still think it is a good idea and wanted to see it happen on campus. We started a club called “Cycles of Change” to facilitate the program and gather bike lovers. (Our meeting time is Wednesday at 5pm in the student lounge in University Center. Feel free to join our meetings!) With people’s help in volunteering at Earn A Bike shop, the club got 6 bikes. We also got locks and helmets for the bikes. Everyone is welcomed to borrow a bike and take a ride to explore the neighborhood, do some grocery shopping, or simply do some exercise and enjoy the nice weather; you can check it out at the information desk in University Center. We planned to take a group picture on Friday afternoon, however, when we got to the bike rack, there was only one bike and all the others had been lend out! It was great to see that the program was running.
