Spring Break, Euphoria IV and the Multicultural Dinner

Hey EveryoneWelcome back from spring break! Funny story about spring break actually, I decided that spring break would be an excellent time to catch up on work and maybe study for the MCATS (medical medical college admissions test). Just when I was getting very comfortable in the deserted library and the chilly breeze of the huge snow storm outside, my friends decided that it was extremely necessary for our general well-being to go to Miami for a few days and get some vitamin D-rich sunshine. So we booked a very last-minute, very-cheap full package trip to Miami, Florida for 4 days and laid on the beautiful beaches  of florida. We got a great deal; ocean-view hotel room, with a jacuzzi and 24-hour beach access.  After an awesome spring break, it was once again time to get back to work. Fortunately, many of us were still in spring break mode so this friday Radio of Clark University (ROCU) in association with the International Students Association (ISA) threw a Club-style Dance party in the Cafeteria complete with raised platform, club-style projector, laser lights and glow sticks. This dance party is called Euphoria IV (it is the fourth one so far) and this years theme was “Beach Party”! Black lights, laser beams and glow sticks were very popular. It began at 11pm and by midnight the cafe was packed with students dancing the night away.  It was so much fun, that when it finished at 2am I didn’t mind so much cleaning up afterwards (perks of being part of the organizing committee).  The weekend ended with the annual multicultural on saturday. This is an event held every year, sponsored by all the cultural groups on campus. It is one of the biggest co-sponsored events at Clark, that invites students, faculty and administration.  This year we had professional chinese dragon performers come perform dragon and lion dance using huge dragon and lion head props. It was very colorful and pretty amazing to see the two men in the dragon costume jump and shake in the air, making the dragon come alive. We also had a performance from the Clark accords club, who sang harmonious melodies from South Africa and Russian. We also had a tango performance by members of the Clark Ballroom club and ISA finally revealed the trailer for the this year’s international Gala. That completes this week of activites. Tuessday is St. Patricks day and Saturday is Namibia’s 19th independence day annerseriry, so remember to high five a Namibian on the 21st (chances are I might be the only one you know considering there’s less than 2 million world wide…. so high five me!)Have a great week!  Dragon DanceMulticultural DinnerThe delicious international CuisineMiami Beach!!!My very pathetic attempt to take a picture at Euphoria in the dark!
