Worcester Consortium Career Fair, and IA events

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a great week.
On Wednesday, I went to the Worcester Consortium Career Fair at DCU center. There were more than 70 companies recruiting both full time jobs and summer interns. I talked to 5 companies, gave them my resumes, and got tons of flyers from many other enterprises. Worcester Consortium is an alliance of 13 colleges in the neighborhood area, including WPI, Assumption, Holy Cross and so on. Students can take classes in all the colleges in the consortium and borrow books from their libraries. There is a bus that goes in a loop to 7 of the schools every hour which makes it convenient for students to go around. The consortium also organizes a variety of events such as an annual leadership conference. Your welcome to check it at www.cowc.org/
IA had two events this weekend: the Karaoke night on Friday and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Championship on Sunday afternoon. The Karaoke night was kind of relaxing. My friends and I sang “Happy Ending” and “Hey Jude.” We also chilled on the comfy couches to enjoy other people’s performance. Thanks for SADD who made great mock tails for the event. And we had great cupcakes and cookies. Seven people signed up for the chocolate chip cookie baking championship competition and six showed up. Everyone’s cookies had his/her own characters, some were soft while some were harder, some had peanut butter while some had vanilla flavor, and they all made our mouths watery. Dean Nancy Budwig and President’s Wife Kay Bassett became our distinguished judges. There were also many students showing up to eat the cookies and voted for their favorite. We had a champion, and prizes of most original cookie, chewiest, and students’ vote. Hopefully next year more people would like to enter the competition.
