International Gala and Green Run

Hey everyone,

I hope you are enjoying the begining of the spring season. I know I am. This weekend there were a lot of events going on on campus. Friday night was the International Gala, the biggest event of the year here at Clark. Hundreds of people from the Clark and Worcester community come to the Kneller Athletic Center to be apart of it. It’s a huge show that students from every background come together to put on. It’s a chance for students to represent their culture by performing a dance, singing a song, or acting out a scene. It’s really cool to see the different costumes and hear the type of music that people from other countries wear and listen to. Some of the countries that were included were Ireland, Jamaica, India, China, Spain, Mexico, USA, and many, many more.

Today my roomates and I walked/ran the “Green Run”. Our friend Maria Arabatzis planned the entire event as part of a class project. She did a great job because over a hundred people turned out for the event. It was a 5K run around the Clark campus and all the money raised went to support environmental issues. At the end of the race there was a little party with food and music so everyone hung out together. There was also a raffle where some lucky runners won gift certificates to restaurants and spas and an iPod. All in all it was a great time. Here are some pictures from the end of the race….
