So long, Farewell, Aufwiedersehen, Adieu

Hey Everyone, So it is hard to believe that this year is almost over. So many things have happened this past academic year, parties, events and of course all the junior level courses that I managed to survive taking. This next two weeks are final week, meaning all our exams and final presentations are due within the next 14 days. Before I sign off however I wanted to mention this weeks events, which have been just as eventful as the events throughout the year.Firstly, yesterday was the Clark intramural coed final and the premier final, the coed final was between the “Spartans” and “The Refugees” which are two teams that some of my friends play for. I watched coed final which was pretty intense. “The Refugees” won 3 to 1 against the “Spartan” in one of the most dramatic games of the season end. There were great shots, unfair referee decisions as well brilliant saves by both sides, the makings of a great football/soccer match. The Refugees went on to play the premier final, which was decided by penalties. The last penalty shot was scored by the “manager” of the team, Sameed, who somehow managed to put the ball through the goalkeepers legs and win it for the reigning champions. Watching the matches made me more amped for intramural soccer next year, but of course only after some summer extensive training if we ever wish to win the glory of Clark Intramural Soccer Champions.  Academic spree day was this thursday as well, and my roommate Sahar was presenting on, funny enough,  soccer and german nationalism, basically how soccer has united the nation and new generation of germans, making them more patriotic and proud to wave a german flag. It was an amazing presentation where she, and her group members, talked about the “Wunder von Bern” which I studied in my german class. Basically in 1954 Germany won the soccer world cup for the first time, shortly after the end of world war two. They was a new wave of german patriotism afterwards, similar to that experienced  during the 2006 world cup. And today, Today I was elected president of the International Students Association (ISA) (yay!!! ;-) . Yes it was a very emotion time for me considering I have wanted to be president since my freshmen year and that I love ISA and am very passionate about this student club . Now I look to senior year (as well as my final next week ;-/) hoping for the best and excited for the future. So everyone Good luck with everything, hope to see you around Clark sometime soon and always remember, “College life is too short not to enjoy!”Bye-  love Tuku  spree-day-presentaion.jpg   spree-day-presntation-2.jpg
